The Rearranged World series symbolizes humanity’s impact on the world, and their need to order and alter the world to suit their needs. The cut pieces of maps reflect how those changes have an effect on everything in nature and on our perception of where we belong. The works are three dimensional and made from discarded printer’s type trays. Inserted into the slots that originally held pieces of leads of Chinese characters are small slices of maps from old atlases. The novel construction and material of the works invites the viewer to inspect the works closely.
