In his most recent work, Howells continues to explore uses of patterns and tiles in combination with symbolic and allegorical drawings to discover meaning in connection and change. White Lily is a contemplation on the endless cycles of human conflict that constantly reshape our world. Red River features four panels with different subjects related to the gradual but irreversible changes to nature from human activity, even in areas of the world that might feel like they are immune.
